Tree Designs

It's been way too long since I last created a blog entry. So let's see if I can remember how.

My Tuesday evening pastel class assignment is to create an interesting design out of a not too interesting tree: "What does your tree say?"
Here's the updated more interesting reference photo and the original photo.

The morning light on this photo makes it much more interesting.

This original image shows the tree sitting alone in the field but the fence separates the viewer from the point of interest.

"Failing to plan is planning to fail"

So the first part of planning is to create those dreaded thumbnails.

This thumbnail is done from the original photo and I adjusted the field shadows to give the eye a way to jump across the fence.

What does a really large tree say?

Here's our tree, very alone, with the forest looming over it.
"Alone and far away"
Tomorrow I'm going to work on some color thumbnails.
