My Tuesday evening pastel class assignment is to create an interesting design out of a not too interesting tree: "What does your tree say?"

This original image shows the tree sitting alone in the field but the fence separates the viewer from the point of interest. |

So the first part of planning is to create those dreaded thumbnails.
This thumbnail is done from the original photo and I adjusted the field shadows to give the eye a way to jump across the fence. |
